Formulation Procedure

Procedure (Hot Process)

  1. Predisperse phase A2 in phase A1, homogenize with IKA at 9000 rpm for 10 min.
  2. Add phase A3 to adjust the pH to 7.
  3. Heat phase B to 80°C and add phase C to phase B one by one until everything is dissolved.
  4. Heat phase A to 80°C.
  5. Add phase BC to phase A under IKA homogenizer at 8000 rpm for 6 min.
  6. Add phase D to the above emulsion and mix for 2 min at 5000 rpm.
  7. Cool down to 40°C using anchor pale stirrer.
  8. Add phase E and mix for 10 min.
  9. Homogenize again at 5000 rpm for 2 min.
  10. Check pH and adjust between 7.1-7.5 if necessary.

Additional Notes

  • Stable 3 months at 4°C, RT and 40°C.
  • Aspect: Off white viscous cream
  • pH = 7.32
  • Viscosity (spindle 7; 5 rpm; 1 min) = 573,600 cPs
  • in vitro SPF (measured) = 71.9
  • in vitro SPF (calculated with BASF simulator) = 30
  • Natural Origin % = 71.5
  • Application: Apply evenly on your face. Reapply every two hours to keep an efficient protection. To be used daily.
