Formulation Procedure

Procedure (Cold Process)

  1. Combine ingredients of phase A1 and mix (Turbotest® VMI dissolver stirrer) until homogeneous
  2. Add phase A2 in phase A1 and mix until homogeneous
  3. Combine ingredients of phase B1 and homogenize (Silverson for 7 min at 7,000 rpm)
  4. Add successively ingredients of phase B2 to phase B1 under mixing and adjust the pH to 7 with phase B3
  5. Slowly incorporate phase B to phase A (Turbotest® VMI dissolver stirrer) increasing the speed progressively from low to high
  6. Successively add ingredients of phase C to phase AB
  7. Homogenize the mixture (Silverson for 2 min at 5,000 rpm)

Additional Notes

  • Evaluated 3 months at 4°C, RT and 40°C. A viscosity increase can be observed over time.
  • Aspect: White jelly cream
  • pH = N/A
  • Viscosity (spindle 3; 10 rpm; 1 min) = 5,630 cPs (56.3%)
  • Application: Apply evenly on face. Re-apply every 2 hours for optimal protection
  • Natural Origin % = 95.5
  • SPF in vitro = 41
