Formulation Procedure

Procedure

  • Combine phase A ingredients sequentially and homogenize for 40 minutes.
  • Transfer batch to a lightning mixer and add phase B, mix at 300-500 rpm for 15 minutes to break up agglomerates.
  • Transfer batch to homogenizer and continue mixing until homogenous.
  • Add Phase C sequentially, ensuring each ingredient is fully dispersed before adding the next. Mix for 20-30 minutes.
  • In a separate beaker combine Phase D and lightning mix for 10 minutes.
  • Add Phase D to Phase ABC and homogenize for 15 minutes.
  • Add phase E and continue mixing for 3 minutes.
  • Drop batch.

  • Active Ingredient: Zinc Oxide ~ 16.32%
  • SPF (FDA 2011 Method) = 50
  • UVA/UVB ratio (FDA Method) = 0.75
  • Critical Wavelength (FDA Method) = 380 nm
  • Testing also confirmed by SPF ISO 24444 Method.
